Temp File Cleaner for Windows

Your Windows PC stores junk in predictable places: temp folders, browser caches, old Windows Updates, crash dumps. SwiftClean finds and removes it all in one scan, showing you exactly how many megabytes you get back.

Why temp files pile up (and where)

Windows creates temporary files in two main spots: your user profile's `%TEMP%` folder and `C:\Windows\Temp`. Over months, these fill with installer scraps, crash logs, and orphaned data that nothing is still using. Your browser also stashes cache files — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and others keep copies of every image, script, and webpage you've visited.

If your disk is filling fast but you can't find large files in your Documents or Downloads, temp junk is the likely culprit. On machines that haven't been cleaned in a year or two, these hidden folders often consume 5–50 GB.

SwiftClean scans all these locations at once and reports the exact byte count before you clean. You see the numbers; you decide whether to remove them.

How to clean temp files with SwiftClean

  1. Download and install Grab the zip file from swiftcleanpc.com, run the installer, and open the program.
  2. Launch the program Double-click the SwiftClean setup. Windows may ask for your permission once because the build is new — just allow it to proceed.
  3. Click Scan The tool scans Windows temp folders, browser caches, the Recycle Bin, Windows Update downloads, and crash dumps. Within seconds, it shows you the total junk found in each category.
  4. Review and uncheck Each scan category has a checkbox. If you're sorting through the Recycle Bin or want to keep a browser's cache for now, uncheck it. Then click *Clean*.

What SwiftClean actually removes

The program targets only known-safe junk: Windows temp directories, browser cache (not saved logins or passwords), the Recycle Bin, Windows Error Reporting crash dumps, and the Windows Update download folder. Your Documents, photos, and installed programs are never touched.

Browser caching is a special case. SwiftClean clears cache data only — the temporary copies of websites — and skips your saved passwords, cookies for sites you're logged into, and browser autofill. You stay logged in; the junk goes away.

If you use admin mode, the tool also clears `C:\Windows\Temp`, which ordinary users can't access. This is where system-level junk lives, and it's often the biggest space gain on older PCs.

Installing means you control it

SwiftClean installs on Windows 10/11 with a standard setup from the downloaded zip. Windows may ask for your permission once.

To remove it, delete the folder. That's it. No leftover registry entries, no uninstall wizard, no traces.

This also means you can run it on a USB stick on any Windows machine, or move it between computers without reinstalling.

Why SwiftClean doesn't lie about what it finds

Many 'cleaner' tools invent scary numbers — '10,000 registry problems detected' — to pressure you into paying for a pro version. SwiftClean does the opposite. The scan window shows the real megabytes found in each category before cleaning and the real megabytes freed after. No guessing, no invented problems.

It's also fully free. No paid tier, no pro version, no nag screens. The MIT license means you can use it at work or at home without restrictions.

Common questions

How do I install it?

No. Standard user mode cleans your profile's temp and browser caches. Elevating to admin (via the UAC prompt) also unlocks the Windows-level temp folder and Update downloads, which often contain the most junk. Either way works.

Will it delete my saved passwords or browsing history?

No. SwiftClean targets cache only — the temporary copies of web pages. Saved passwords, bookmarks, and site login cookies stay put.

Does it need internet or an account?

SwiftClean works fully offline and doesn't phone home. Download the zip and run the installer.

What if I clean something by mistake?

Standard files (temp folders, cache, Recycle Bin) behave like normal Windows deletion — gone but recoverable with data recovery tools. The startup manager keeps a registry backup, so any changes to autostart entries are reversible from the same screen.
